A handful of words about Dr. Carole Gaato, your psychologist in Coquitlam…
Sometimes I share with folks that I am working with that I, too, am a “fellow traveller”.
By this I mean that if there ever was a signature phrase to describe my earlier days, it’s captured by that famous song title “The Long and Winding Road”.
As a hipster, I jumped around between universities because I couldn’t declare a major. By then, my creative side had taken over and many years ago I earned a diploma in music therapy. While still studying classical flute, I decided to complete an undergraduate psychology degree at Simon Fraser University.
While history unfolded in a rather circuitous way, I remained steadfast in getting the training I needed in order to practice as the psychologist I yearned to become.
A take home message from my academia is that coloring “outside of the lines” may be a necessary step. This way of thinking has propelled me into many years of studying the mind-body connection and groundbreaking implications from neuroscience for accelerating healing in therapy.
Often, the longest journey we take is the one coming home to ourselves. I’d be thrilled to join you in remembering who you truly are.
Today you are You, that is truer than true.
There is no one alive, who is Youer than You.
